Sometimes I question whether I’ve heard God clearly. I think we’ve all been there. But, sometimes it can get in the way of me being obedient. Because I’ll spend a lot of time second guessing, third guessing, guessing for the 100th time. I’m so afraid that I may be wrong. Especially when it’s something that might truly affect my life, or worse, affect someone else’s life. I don’t want to be wrong. I don’t want people to question my relationship with God, and worse, question God.
The best piece of advice I’ve gotten about this is “There’s grace for that”. God speaks to us through his word, prayer, others (the church, fellow believers, and sometimes even through unbelievers) and through our circumstances. Sometimes it can be tricky to hear when there’s so many other things calling out to us. Even our own thoughts can drown out God’s voice. But his voice is steady. Sometimes it’s a loud clap of thunder and sometimes it’s a still small voice. Sometimes we get the message right and sometimes we’re wrong and there’s grace for that. God will correct us and set us back on the right path, in fact in his foresight, our mistakes have already been recorded in his plan. With a repentant heart before God and others, you will be back on track and God will always be glorified.
