Do you remember that song from children’s church? Read your Bible, pray every day, pray every day, pray every day....and you grow, grow, grow...
Well it’s true. In this world sometimes we can be encouraged to embrace the Peter Pan syndrome and want to be Rugrats for the rest of our days. This is never something the Bible encourages for us spiritually. We should never desire stagnancy in our spiritual growth let alone regression. So here’s 4 things we have to commit ourselves to in order to maintain our spiritual growth.
Read your bible daily. Have little stamina for it? Try a daily devotional, an audio book, or even listen to your favorite preacher’s radio or YouTube broadcast. Just make sure to engage with the word. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, Joshua 1:8)
Pray daily. Pray about your concerns, anxieties and fears, thank God daily for the things he’s done. Pray for others. Daily confess and repent of sins. (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
Actually DO what the word says. (James 1:22, John 14:15)
Be apart of a Christian community. You NEED other believers to strengthen, encourage, and even correct you. You also have to do those things for others. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
