Today I will let the word of God speak for itself. As an person who spent my years in undergrad and grad school dedicated to studying the Black Community (domestically and internationally) as well as a Christian. I felt I must say some of the ways we can celebrate Black History Month and also grapple with the continued racial injustices in our world.
In Christianity, our racial identity is SECONDARY to our identity as a follower of Christ. (Galatians 3:28)
In heaven, we will all be together, different colors and shades, we will worship God in different languages in complete harmony. This is God’s plan and it is BEAUTIFUL. (Daniel 7:13-14, Revelation 7:9)
Therefore, while here on Earth racial tensions can be extremely high, we are called to love IMPARTIALLY sand FORGIVE. (Ephesians 4:32, 1 Corinthians 13)
We must be committed to celebrating all of our cultures/histories and be committed to RACIAL RECONCILIATION (2 Corinthians 5:19)
We have to promote UNITY in the body of CHRIST at all times, at all costs. (Acts 20:28)
