Proverbs 11:14 ESV
Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.
The blindest you’ll ever be is when you’re in a relationship. That person can do no wrong and if you’re not careful, you will abandon all your friends and responsibilities to spend time with your boo. Isolation is a common part of a lot of couple’s worlds. This is a BAD idea. We were meant to live in community. You’ll need friends and family to tell you the truth about yourself, about your partner. Don’t always look for the friend who tells you what you want to hear. Sometimes they may tell you something that stings...and it may save your life. “Wounds from a sincere friend are better than many kisses from an enemy.”
Proverbs 27:6 NLT
There’s such a beauty when your community celebrates with you knowing that you’re with the right person. There’s nothing like your community confidently supporting you that you can make it through the trials of building a healthy relationship when you’re feeling depleted. There’s nothing like having friends that keep you accountable so that you’re not making careless mistakes. So draw 2 or maybe 4. You’ll thank me later.
